Will the real Bunty Backhander please stand up

Lizzy Maginnis is a great writer on her blog. It is a shame she can’t bring herself to tell the truth, maybe her obesity is playing tricks with her memory - the post:

Friends drew my attention to the Evening News online comments yesterday in response to the Waterfront article. In particular to a ‘conversation’ about the two ‘Sooks’ websites. I try never to read them and never to respond since defending yourself against a lie is futile and you only end up validating their right to tell the lie in the first place.Several online readers asked why, if they are lies, does the victim not retaliate with legal action. Believe me, even though I knew I probably wouldn’t succeed, I have tried…not on my own behalf (sticks and stones etc etc and in public life you have to be prepared to take it) but on behalf of my many friends, some family members (one attack on my disabled, widowed mother was particularly despicable) and on the many organisations I work with who have found themselves dragged into a morass of crap simply because of their association with me. However, the authors know the difficulty of successful prosecution and abuse the legislative weakness.

I heard recently that one MSP was considering proposing legislation for more effective remedy…it can’t come soon enough, I say!

We don’t tell lies. We write a reportage which is writing intended to give an account of observed or documented events. Nothing we ever said on the Waterfront was lies as has been borne out by the recent newspaper reports. We also believe there are more to come out.

Several online readers asked why, if they are lies, does the victim not retaliate with legal action. Believe me, even though I knew I probably wouldn’t succeed, I have tried…not on my own behalf (sticks and stones etc etc and in public life you have to be prepared to take it) but on behalf of my many friends, some family members (one attack on my disabled, widowed mother was particularly despicable) and on the many organisations I work with who have found themselves dragged into a morass of crap simply because of their association with me. In fact your solicitors words “any derogatory postings in relation to Elizabeth Maginnis should also be removed.” and the list of links show that it looks like the project you currently manage paid a solicitor to look after your own personal interests. So if in fact your words above are the truth then, will the real Elizabeth Maginnis please stand up, please stand up! We can also point out here that we have never written any posts on Pilton Equalities Project, search the site to find out, here we will even give you the URL: http://www.edinburghsucks.com/index.php?s=pilton+equalities+project. Our legal advisors read the email and told us to ignore it and have also read this post.

BTW, unless Scottish MSPs are now taking on the role of proposing legislation in the United States, or changing the United States Constitution the remedy will not be effective. If you wish to sue us, and that avenue is totally open to anyone, we suggest that it is done where the site is registered, hosted, owned, and copy inserted and where the applicable laws apply.

Maybe new readers to the site would like to click on the above links supplied by Maginnis’ solicitor and find out just who the content is about. Readers will find that the links are pretty much all about Bunty herself. Her blog post is nothing more than her extremely bad spin on a shitty situation the she herself has gotten herself into. In our opinion, the waste of money and lies that have come out the Waterfront deserves to be heard in a court of law and the guilty punished with the full force of the law.
