City Council

Full steam ahead and screw the War Memorial

alt text

Lost because of the trams

It seems that the trams have taken over the city completely including running all the way through the The McCrae’s Battalion War Memorial at the Haymarket.

In recent weeks we have been pounded with stories about trams, including the complete closure of Shandwick Place for months which never reared their ugly head before in the mad rush by lunatic politicians to get the trams approved. Labour, Conservatives, Fib-Dems and the Greens have a lot to answer for.

Now it seems we have “A special steering group of tram officials, conservationists and the trust is being set up to take a decision on the future of the memorial, with all sides keen to minimise the number of Remembrance Sundays that pass without the monument.” well EdSucks position on this particular matter is that there should be NO Remembrance Sundays that pass without the monument. Of course if our councillors and MSPs had the balls to actually do some service to the country in the military then of course the monument would stand where it has for decades. Of course we all know that if you want to be a politician then doing service is the last thing on your mind – it is being served is more to their liking.

It seems that as well as taking over half a million pounds of taxpayers money, this SINGLE TRAM LINE is also taking huge amounts of our heritage.
