Labour’s top brass hates us Scots and our country

One of Labour's Thugs

One of Labour’s in-house thugs

Tory Bliar’s former Director of Political Operations who supposedly provided political management and support for the development of the Government’s political strategy has once again gotten himself the crap - not bad three times in 12 months.

One of John McTernan’s previous emails surfaced recently because of a Freedom of Information request and it turns out that we Scots are not exactly his cup of tea. Maybe that was why when called upon by the Labour Party to do stuff in Scotland he has been a miserable failure.

It seems that McTernan may be called racist for his remarks which were “If you’ve not been to Sweden before I think you’ll really like it. It’s the country Scotland would be if it was not narrow, Presbyterian, racist, etc, etc. Social democracy in action.” Interestingly this comment was made five years ago when the Scottish Parliament in the hands of his Labour paymasters and the quote came from an email to Scottish Labour MSP and ‘Dog of the Week’ nominee Karen Gillon. We in EdSucks towers can’t help wondering whether Gillon complained about the language used to her colleague.

“It’s the country Scotland would be if it was not narrow, Presbyterian, racist, etc, etc.”

McTernan who was dropped into Scotland in May to handle Labour’s most disasterous day at the polls in Scotland now works as the Chief Aide to Des Brown, the part-time Scottish Secretary.

Another part-timer, Alex Salmond the part time MP for Banff and Buchan and part-time First Minister, is not too happy about McTernan’s racist language. “It’s a remarkable insight into the attitudes of the special adviser that London put in charge of Labour’s election campaign last year, ” he said. “It shows why Labour lost the election, they seem to have developed a unique contempt for the Scottish people.” and he’s not too far wrong.

A man not to go down without a fight he does nothing to deny the language but only to attack his employers at the time who did nothing but comply with Labour’s own legislation. “This whole thing is absurd. Words have been taken out of context from a private correspondence that is five years old. Everybody who knows me knows that I have always worked hard for Scotland’s interests and continue to do so at the Scotland Office.” Yeah, Right! Maybe he should consider a new job writing for the Sun - we believe they love printing this sort of stuff in their english edition.

McTernan was interviewed under police caution in Scotland Yard’s cash for peerages inquiry and had previously been chief adviser to the disgraced First Minister Henry McLeish.

  1. You may have a go at me but I earn £99,000 a year (wouldn’t you like that) and I’m a catholic. My current boss is also a catholic and my previous boss just flipped to catholicism as well.

I know our gracious PM isn’t going to switch anytime soon because of his background but I am sure he agreed with my comments.
