Sow’s Ear pissed off about paying for lunch – Lab/Con just steal it

Rather than being totally honest and coming out and telling Alan Roden of the Evening News that she just feels it is up to the citizens of the city to feed her lunch for free on a daily basis this bee in former Lord Provost, Lesley Hinds’ bonnet seems to run on and on. It may be that she is running into financial difficulties since the good citizens of Edinburgh gave her and her party the old heave-ho at the ballot box and her publicly funded salary has been slashed.

The Evening News is reporting that their sources are telling them that our councillors are finding it extremely hard to stuff a half-loaf and mug of soup into their gullets whilst also managing to pay for the sustinence supplied for their convenience.

After the honesty box was launched, it is understood that staff regularly found it to be left short at the end of the day.

Officials soon swapped the box for a version that cannot be opened and features a slot for coins to be dropped in, but the council also declined to reveal whether the correct amount of cash was now being paid.

One City Chambers source said it was thought the amount of money raised was still sometimes lower than it should be.

When this last hit the news in August last year, EdinburghSucks.com exclusively revealed that “that the Administration councillors were not in the City Chambers that day. They were across the road at the Policy and Strategy seminar given by the Chief Executive and Directors.” So it was the sow’s ears’ old timer colleagues in the Labour and Conservative benches who were the lunch thieves.

Once again Lesley Hinds doesn’t complain about her colleagues stealing the food – she prefers to whine and find excuses to get her face stuffed for free…. “The administration has got to make up its mind â€“ they either subsidise meals or they don’t,” she said.

“It takes time for staff to add the money up at the end of the day, and then bank it.

“Personally, I don’t know why we have the set-up. It’s not as if we don’t have plenty of other places to go for sandwiches.”

Rightfully, someone has made an FOIA(S) request and we will find out the extent of the councillor pilfering. Wonder if they steal the paper clips and post-its as well.
