Tories fighting like ferrets in a sack

Winner by voting for himself
It seems the Conservatives in Edinburgh have had a couple of weeks of infighting culminating in close run contest at their AGM with leader Iain Whyte just managing to hold on to power by voting for himself.

Cllr Whyte said: “Jeremy and I are on friendly terms and I believe I have his full support, this was not anything personal.

“We now have to concentrate on the matter in hand and increasing our visibility across the city.

“The Conservative group is full of ideas as to how our city could be run better.

Aye right!

It would be interesting to know if Balfour was after Whyte’s highly paid Police Board convenorship or just wanted to give him a bloody nose. As if they didn’t have enough fight about with the current administation.

As an interesting aside. An EdSucks operative was summoned to the city chambers a few years ago to meet Whyte and another Tory councillor. We had been covering Dodgy Paul Nolan and we were tempted to the meeting by being told that they had a huge dossier on Nolan and his cronies going back years. The end of the story is we turned up, were told nothing, never saw the dossier if it indeed existed and thankfully gave them no information before giving it to our readers, which of course is what they were after. Buncha Twats.
