City Council

Well placed, Aye Right Tom.

The Evening Chip Paper will carry a story tonight about city council chief executive Tom Aitchison putting his neck on the line at the full council meeting yesterday saying that:

“Without being complacent about this, we are quite far advanced in terms of our planning and preparations.

“I can give you the reassurance that a lot of planning has gone into preparing for this sort of situation and nobody should be alarmed.”

The interesting thing about the story is that no councillors managed to pop their heads above the parapet and agree with him. What about hearing from some of the politicians on Health & Social Care committee that we are all safe? 5 Scottish Liberal Democrat, 4 Scottish National Party, 4 Labour, 3 Conservative, 1 Green. Obviously their whips told them to “sit down and shut yer face”

Who are they?

Councillor Edie, Convener
Councillor Hawkins
Councillor Morris
Councillor Peacock
Councillor Coleman
Councillor Beckett
Councillor Bridgman
Councillor McIvor
Councillor Work, Vice Convener
Councillor Barry
Councillor Ewan Aitken
Councillor Hinds
Councillor Munro
Councillor Elaine Aitken
Councillor Kate MacKenzie
Councillor Paisley
Councillor Chapman
Leader (ex officio)
Deputy Leader (ex officio)

Shirkers, all of them. They’ll take the money but not the flak. Unless of course, they are like the couple from Polmont and they’ve already signed up newspaper deals – wouldn’t surprise us.

Just in case you don’t want to trust Tommy Boy – all you iPhone junkies can always pop over to the App Store. Naturally, someone just had to make an iPhone app to track it and IntuApps it seems is first to the post. We are reliably informed that Swine Flu Tracker is currently awaiting approval from Apple before being released to the App Store.
