With Darling refusing to accept the Home Office, Blears resigning just before question time…… We in the EdSucks gang hut think it is possible that later today we might find the date of the next general election. Maybe even at question time! This will make fun watching FMQs with Iain Grey this afternoon.

With the Prime Minister determined to tough out the biggest crisis of his career, ringleaders of the plot to topple him admitted they cannot succeed without a full-scale Cabinet mutiny.

The Prime Minister, who was visited by Sir Alan Sugar, whose catchphrase is “you’re fired”, was phoning key colleagues to guarantee their support.
