Edinburgh Labour’s silver lining

Leaving the PLP meeting tonightLabour got a damn good, well-deserved thumping in the European elections as a party. It is also hoped in lots of corners of the land that their bullying leader, one dark night, when he is dumped by the public and is back to being Mr. Brown of North Queensferry, gets a real good kicking for his and his dark cronies total disregard for the populace he is supposed to be representing.

However, in Edinburgh, there is a silver lining. One of the Labour councillors who is handily pulling in two public funded salaries (he is also a full-time youth worker for North Edinburgh Trust on over 40k a year), Councillor Cammy Day, can be proud of being a representative of a party that managed to get the BNP two seats in the European Parliament with their constant reference to them up and down the country trying to frighten constituents into voting for piss-poor labour, can hold his head up high knowing that his own brother was recently outed as being a BNP activist as we reported back in November 2008. Given that the BNP got 1,784 votes in Edinburgh, the way we are treated by the people in number 10, we wonder if Councillor Day was putting two leaflets through doors instead of one.

The only other Liebourites celebrating will of course be their MEPs who go back to troughing for another 5 years in Europe whilst all of us back here wonder what the hell they do over there other than stuffing euros into their deep pockets. No doubt the Scottish Gnats will be out celebrating tonight with haggis, neeps and tatties where Mr. Salmond of course will be keeping the receipts safely in his pocket so that the can file that expense claim, for food, first thing in the morning.

  1. They just want to trough for another twelve months. Thats the measure of them. They know Brown is a liability but will settle for a quiet life, knowing they are despised but able to trough for a little longer.

  4. you should do some research on Cammy Day and his work at NE trust. He is as bent as his predecessor and more. Did you know she was on 63k for running a small community elderly group? Why have you not published that?

    In pilton it is all labour twats that run everything like the nazis. Hynds is gunning for the MSP and is briefing behind his back so that she can get on the holyrood gravy train and day is right behind her wiping her arse.

    ask where the money for the royston community centre went. your pal rosendale stole that and used it to put a new roof on the school even though it was against the law.

    check out the board of the NETrust. There is a couple of clean people on there but it is totally swamped with labours henchmen who outvote the gooduns.

    Day is also the owner of two houses. some socialist. two houses and two jobs. where does the money come from because he has never had anything other than publickly funded positions ‘in the community.

    lot to look at there.

  7. To correct some people I have knowledge of ‘Day’ and can clarify that he does not own 2 houses outright and that he earns NO WHERE NEAR £40k for 2 publicly funded positions. I also have knowledge of his ‘brother’ and can confirm that with immediate effect once he was aware of the racist background of the BNP he left and its appears that he made a point of joining the BNP as a result of flawed government policy on immigration. And the question of his brothers views on anything should not be brought in to any discussion. And those who leave comments on sites such as this should be wary, especially Elvis look-a-likes and fat slob nobody’s who lets be honest cant possibly get any fatter.
