Fiona Hyslop, the person in charge of education for the whole of Scotland, today proves that rather than being in charge of education, she should be availing herself of the stuff.
Using an op-ed piece to make a party political broadcast in the Evening Chip Paper about apprentices, which is cannily close to the same shyte that Liebour’s lieder did a couple of weeks ago, the Educashion Sekretary aimed the piece at employers asking them to give a job to out of work apprentices. Handily, just like Blue Peter, she happened to have a redundant apprentice she had made earlier on hand to pick up a job at the very place she was visiting. She also seemingly had a wad of £2,000 petty cash taken from the parly. Funny how when on ministerial official visits, redundant apprentices seem to be lining up in case the minister can give out jobs and wads of cash.
Anyhoo, in writing her piece of lying shyte to employers, which was possibly in joined-up writing, she tells us that:
“The recession is having an affect on companies across Scotland and some employers have had to make the difficult decision to let some of their apprentices go .”
Well, Hyslop. I would think that employers would be letting you go as well when you cannot even put a sentence together properly. FYI it should be “The recession is having an effect on companies across Scotland and some employers have had to make the difficult decision to let some of their apprentices go .”
Now we all know that our Educashion Sekretary can’t even win a seat on her own but has to get elected through the list, but we think she will have no problem at all if she pops down to her local evening class and signs up for english, pronto!

I do remember Cathy Jamieson doing our school prizegiving speech as Education Minister – she couldn’t say “elocution.” Oh the rich irony.
