Following the premiere of a friend’s video highlighted on this site’s front page today, an email with the following document arrived this morning from a co-conspirator. Seems the dirt is flying – if any others have info, do let us know.
“The foul odour of moral decay hangs over the Management Committee of Magdalene Community Centre. Now in it’s final months and in the run up to its forthcoming AGM, many of the committee are characterised by deceit, incompetence, conflict of interest issues, with no intention of holding a democratic AGM. The case of the current Chair is surely a symbol of the Committee’s ethical decline. When the committee made him Chair in November 08 he was hailed as a person with morals who would work his ass off for the benefit of the community and community centre.
Alas, within one month of his becoming chair, a couple whom he is friendly with joined the committee along with his missus and her friend – all were co-opted on. The “decision making circle†began to emerge. The Youth Worker (who was once known for his honesty and transparency) decided it would be in his “best interests†to join the “decision making circleâ€. The Chair now cannot make a decision without first consulting his missus and then his decision making circle. Rumour has it that at least a further 2 family members are set to join the next committee. That will mean at least 7 family members: from 3 families in the area will hold nearly half of the positions on the committee. They are set to have further friends join the committee, where they will all attend the forthcoming AGM and vote each other onto the committee – all seen to be democratic of course! The other option is to alter their Constitution to either lower the amount of places on the Committee (so as less family and friends need to join in order to stitch up the next committee) or reserve places on the committee for the Centre Group Leaders. The Chair and his missus run a Group at the Centre – so a place would automatically be reserved for one of them! See – all legal – but nevertheless: stitched up behind the scenes!
DOES THE NOLAN PRINCIPLES OF LIFE COME TO MIND HERE – THE PAUL NOLAN PRINCIPLES?
The current Committee is clearly divided, with some wanting to cater for the whole community whilst others want to cater for their family, friends and themselves. Committee meetings at present are a joke: discussions and decisions have already taken place out-with committee meetings. Committee meetings are used to personally attack other committee members not in the decision making circle who question the current “goings onâ€. Full Minutes cannot be passed at meetings: with those in the decision making circle picking and choosing what paragraphs and pages they want altered in order to hide what is actually taking place at Magdalene. The Chairs missus: at the last meeting put herself forward for the “Secretary†position: even though the position was already filled: in order that she could stitch up the Minutes (does Christene Mackay not come to mind here!). Fortunately it was pointed out to her by a decent Committee Member (not in the decision making circle) that the position of Secretary was already filled and not “up for grabsâ€. Meetings have now been closed to the public until the AGM (even though they were open meetings for the last 3 years) so as all this deceit is hidden from the community. Will future meetings be closed to the community when the new stitched up committee is put in place? Watch this space…..
If the decision making circle do stitch up the next committee, CLD have agreed to put a Facilities Co-ordinator/Project Worker Post into the Centre: after the AGM takes place. TRY AND FIND THE ADVERT FOR THIS POST – YOU WON’T FIND IT: the plan is to give the current Youth Worker/Youth Work Organiser the post: his reward for working with the decision making group. This is all hush hush at the moment – but watch this space……

They definetly lied about when it was done so there is 1 lie right away. I am in the playground every week and it was done loooong before last week! Video is really funny I know the people and they are all 2 faced they even talk about each other behind their backs just ask the other parents. thats right cause i saw it last month and funnily enough it was a committee member who showed me it! the chair lied on national tv. another lie told on an online version was the picture was children of all colours playing together,. everyone one in the picture was WHITE and IT WAS A PICTURE OF THEMSELVES, bunch of bigheads! yes they have told lies. thanks for the link the video is really funny roll on the next one
Yes the picture was of themselves. Did you notice the “twins” by the way hehehe kelly and strawheid. That one gave us all a good laugh. I know there can sometimes be a time delay between twins but a 25 year time delay! Time has not been kind to the strawheid twin hehehe. Rab has grew hair now is that so as the above photo doesnt look like him hehehe. The chair should have had a wash n shave before going on the telly hehehe. Make the next picture of the kids and not of yourselfs. Brilliant video when you know the people involved hehehe.

the word in the school and playground is that mrs wright isn’t happpy that its bad press for brunstane school. she isn’t happy that the community centre waited 6 weeks to leak it to the papers on armistace day to get publicity for themselves. they were all at the centre last week with their evening news tucked under their arms and smiling. mrs wright isn’t smiling and neither are the parents because they are treating us like idiots.
Do they think we are stupid? do they think we dont know the graffitti was done waaaaay before they reported it to the press and dibby put the swastikas there.

Good video very funny
I am a parent of a Brunstane pupil. I have heard different versions of what happened. I do not know which one is the truth but I do know I was told about the graffiti long before they reported it.
I don’t appreciate silly lies being told to maximize the effect, in doing so they also abused the memory of the soldiers for maximum publicity. That on it’s own is truly shocking!
I agree with Mrs Wright it was not good publicity for the school. It was not good publicity for the community centre either in that school parents know they have lied to both the national press and the TV cameras.
Parent 2 was correct, it was not a picture of children playing, it was indeed a picture of themselves. I also would like the next mural to be of the children. A picture of themselves will only remind me of the lie they told.
