City of Edinburgh Council are bastards
Although director of city development, Dave Anderson, the acting head of service, Janis Dunn, and the original head of service, Brian Sibbald were all suspended ON FULL PAY together with all the Senior Surveyors and Surveyors, there is still a series of questions to be asked:
- Why was Brian Sibbald allowed to retire on full pension when the service (that’s a joke) he ran was riddled with fraud, corruption and money laundering?
- Why has everybody been suspended on full pay when they could be suspended on no pay until the truth comes out and paid back money if they were not on the take?
- Why is it taking so long to decide to fire these people?
- What did Director of Service for Communities and his in-house girlfriend know about this over the years?
- What about the same stuff that has been going on in Edinburgh Stair Partnership – which we will be bringing information on soon?
There are many more questions to be asked and answered but we believe that this is a good start.

Sibbald was never a head of service. It was Ness and he was suspended and replaced by Dunn.

Janis Dunn was acting head of service according to our sources and council documentation. You are right Ness, who was fired, then bolted over to human resources and somehow managed to get early retirement, was head of service.
You are right about Turley, Director of Services for Communities. It is four of his workers who have been charged and he has effectively been promoted for overseeing fraud, corruption and money-laundering.
ALL owners that have had felt roofs done need to check them out.ALL they need to request is a copy of guarantee. Not only is it specifications that are questionable it is also guarantees, some have been caught with wrong specification and wrong guarantees, right specification and wrong guarantee (material only) because contractor/s not registered and approved to qualify for issue of compliant guarantee (labour workmanship and material.Some with fraudulent guarantees issued in name of supplier but not uppliers materials,think thats fraud isn’t it !!!)this has been confirmed in the cases that were checked and confirmed on by suppliers. M<any case to be checked. This needs put to facebook and your site. The whistleblowers cannot do it all on their own.

re: point 2 – unless your contract states otherwise (and i’ve never seen one that does), suspensions are always on full pay, as until an employee has had employment formally terminated they are still an employee and entitled to contractual pay
for gross misconduct claims, as these are serious enough for employees to be dismissed without further notice (but a formal investigation and hearing should take place to avoid a tribunal), employees should be suspended on full pay whilst an investigation takes place, as anything considered gross misconduct means that the employee has potentially done something that means they should not be allowed to work again
thus there could be a complaint that an employee has stolen, so the employee is suspended, an investigation takes place and a formal hearing hear. the investigation may well find no evidence or could find someone else did it, so it would have been unfair to fire someone on the spot or suspend them on no pay
it is up to the employer to hold investigations in a reasonable time frame so memories are not affected and so they aren’t paying people to do nothing
re: point 3 – as to why it’s taking so long, presumably it’s taking a while to get the evidence from detoilet. but WTF is it taking so long for that to happen? they obviously have a lot of evidence to go through. but it’s costing tax payers a LOT Of money
hopefully the government will bring back hanging in time for this disgrace to be concluded

Edinburgh is run by a Council of fucking idiots who spend more time trying to tick boxes than trying to really do anything constructive. I know because i work for them. They don’t give a shit about you, me, or anyone else but themselves and their fat paychecks. The only thing i don’t blame the Edinburgh Council for is the crap weather. Fuck it, i’m going back to New Zealand!

The crooks and incompetents who have been spraying our money around like an unattended fire hose have some serious answering to do. As an Edinburgh Citizen, I feel really powerless about all of this.
