Edinburgh Sucks has received a communication originating from the whistleblowers lawyers advising that proceeding at this time, with publication of further chapters of “Diary of a Whistleblower: The Edinburgh Property Conservation Scandal” would not be prudent. The reason behind this is that it may affect the real life whistleblower’s upcoming employment tribunal in June. Edinburgh Sucks wishes to make clear it was never the intention to cause embarrassment to the Council by publishing this book, the publication is to shine a spotlight on the extremely dark places that is City of Edinburgh council management practices.
Edinburgh Sucks will therefore postpone publishing the rest of the diary until the whistleblowers hearing is concluded in June. However, we are aware that the council are following their tried and tested tactics of calling for postponments to hearings over and over again to force the victim into poverty with legal expenses. What the council won’t know, until now, is that there is a small coterie of substantial financial backers that have built reserves to ensure fair treatment of the whilstleblower no matter how far it goes.
The current chapter of the Diary has been well viewed and downloaded and we understand that there is an eager audience from not only within Edinburgh but also much further waiting on further chapters. Be assured we shall resume publication as soon as we feel it is pertinent.
We can assure you that the contents of the Diary will shock you to the core that such disgusting behaviour by senior council officials is carried on within your city with impunity, by people paid by you. It is also being covered up by the very people you elect. As a teaser, in chapter two there is the details where a female cleaner is headbutted by a drunk senior member of staff, and the victim is forced to leave and it was all shoved under the carpet.
Don’t forget, if anyone has any information they wish to impart about the council feel free to use the contact form on the right hand side of each page on this site. All information will be treated with the greatest confidence and with respect. This post will also be open for comments for a while if you have any information.

I had really looked forward to reading further chapters of this diary since it concerns the dismissal of one of my constituents. I wish I’d tried to stop his sacking, now, for I was Leader when he was dismissed- and he’d spoken to me several times after he got suspended. But as readers will know, I do not get involved in staffing matters, preferring instead to greenlight our Chief Exec to spend your Council rates on QCs such as Ian Sharpe at the forthcoming Employment Tribunal. The Council has unlimited resources and I expect we shall seek to crush this whistleblower like a fly.
Unfortunately, I fear that many of my 17,700 Council workers will no longer confide in me as a result.
One would tend to think that this isn’t the real Councillor Burns … or is it? There is a snippet of info we didn’t know in it though. One of the leader’s constituents! Is that true? Do tell.
That is a strange message from Andrew Burns is it not? Admitting that they as councillors have no control over the council and how it operates. Surely another campaign is in the offing “Give us Back our Council” Perhaps the time is coming for Cathy’s Clown and Hot Doggin Mike to be exposed SueBu is a waste of space and of course a liar her performance to the chamber re the Deloitte was worthy of an award of some sort, do you think she had her fingers crossed behind her back.
